Spooky season is here, but these new updates are all treat and no trick! We're introducing flexible region-level location tracking, a completely revamped Activity Log with instant recovery, standalone AI Overviews tracking, and AWR MCP server integration for Keyword Clusters.

So let’s get right into it - use the sidebar on the right to jump to a particular update.

Upgraded Location Tracking

Setting up local tracking just got much more flexible. You can now track rankings at the region level (states, counties, and provinces) alongside cities across 164 countries. Here's what's new:

  • Regions & Cities: Easily browse or filter states, counties, or provinces directly in the location picker.

  • Bulk Import: Set up multiple locations by just pasting them in bulk - separated by lines or semicolons.

  • Google-Accurate: Every location matches Google Ads' exact targeting criteria for precise local ranking data.

Redesigned Activity Log

We’ve completely revamped the Activity Log to give you full visibility into your AWR account.

It’s now clearer, fully filterable, translated, and shows exactly what changed - not just that a change happened.

Here's what’s new:

  • 8 Expanded Categories: Track changes across Projects, Users, Connections, Whitelabel, Ranking & Difficulty Updates, Account Settings, and Brand Intelligence.

  • Before & After Details: Click the chevron on settings changes to compare old vs. new values instantly.

  • Instant Recovery: Restore deleted keywords, search engines, competitors, and even entire projects right from the log.

  • and more.

AI Overviews Search Engine

AI Overviews are now available for tracking as a standalone search engine option in Advanced Web Ranking.

To measure your presence in Google's AI-generated answers independently of your regular results, simply add AI Overviews as a dedicated search engine to your project.

Keyword Clusters MCP Server Integration

You can now access and manage your Keyword Clusters report data directly within your AI workflows using the Advanced Web Ranking MCP server*.

By bringing keyword clustering into your MCP environment, you can instantly group broad search topics by intent and volume, spot hidden content gaps, and align your target URLs with competitive SERP themes. This will allow your team to eliminate manual keyword mapping and build data-driven content strategies in minutes.

Refer to the setup guide for more details on configuring your AWR MCP server, and explore the custom prompts included to start analyzing your clusters right away.

*Keyword Clusters report is available on Agency plans and higher.

And that’s pretty much it for October! 🙂
