What’s New at Advanced Web Ranking? (September 2025)
School is back in session, and we've been doing our homework! This September, we’re excited to unveil the launch of the Keyword Research module, the ChatGPT search engine integration, the addition of new markets tracking in Google AI Mode, and more.
So let’s get right into it – use the sidebar on the right to jump to a particular update.
Keyword Research
The Keyword Research tool expands AWR's capabilities beyond rank tracking to full-scale discovery. With it, you can:
See all the keywords your site ranks for in Google organic results
Spot competitors sharing the same SERPs
Pinpoint the exact pages driving traffic and their associated keywords
Get fresh keyword ideas and import them directly into your AWR projects
Explore a global keyword database spanning over 100 countries
Track the evolution of your keywords, pages, and traffic

The Keyword Research add-on is available for a monthly fee of $49 on Starter, Pro, Agency, and Enterprise plans, but it's included at no extra cost for Enterprise Plus plans and above.
ChatGPT Search Engine
ChatGPT is now available as a new search engine option in Advanced Web Ranking. The results retrieved by AWR are ChatGPT's cited URLs in Sources, while the resources consumed for tracking these rankings are the same as those of any other search engine.

Google AI Mode New Markets
Google AI Mode tracking is now available in two new countries: the UK and India. Gain new insights into your rankings on these newly added markets by adding them as dedicated search engines in Advanced Web Ranking.

Quick Tip: To avoid overwriting your existing data, we recommend creating a separate project for Google AI Mode tracking.
Scheduled On-Demand Updates
You can now schedule on-demand ranking updates* for a project at an exact date and time, once or with one of the following recurring options: weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

*this feature is available for Enterprise plans and higher.
AIO Citation Rank
Better understand AI Overviews and Citation URLs visibility with the AIO Citation Rank metric available as a column in the Keyword Ranking and Top Sites views.

The URLs inside an AI Overview are given a rank based on their order of appearance, while those visible without clicking Show more are flagged as Top Sources.

The AIO Citation Rank metric is available for the Google Universal and Google Search + AIO search engines.
And that’s pretty much it for September! 🙂
