Dragos Geornoiu - Developer
Dragos joined AWR in March 2015 as a developer. He is still a student at the Faculty of Automation, Computers and Electronics, making him the youngest member of the team, which is why coworkers often call him "The Kid".
What inspired me to do what I do
I was intrigued by algorithms and math since high-school. In college I managed to learn how to combine them and create applications from nothing. I am fascinated by the fact that you can observe a problem that exists in the real world and develop an app to solve it, be it a desktop, web, mobile or cloud-based, you can solve a real problem... it's pretty awesome if you think about it.
"Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live. Code for readability." is a slogan I try to code by, but not always manage to do.
Also, I really like this quote: "You shouldn't take life too seriously. You'll never get out alive."
I enjoy watching and playing football, even reading about it. Some of my favorite books are football related, for example Nick Hornby's "Fever Pitch", Bill Buford's "Among The Thugs" and Graham Poll's "Seeing Red" are up there for me. In my spare time, I'm also a well known and respected manager in my Football Manager career.
Thing that really annoys me
It really annoys me when people refer to football as "soccer". Yeah, I'm talking about you "handegg" fans out there!
