Create a new report

AWR Cloud makes it easy for you to generate data reports and share them with your clients. It only takes a few clicks to create, customize and generate a report with the data you're interested in.

Generate a quick report

To generate a data report on the go, use the Quick Report feature and generate a printable version of the UI section using the top-right corner Quick Report button.

The quick generation feature is available for the following sections:

  • Search Engine Comparison (Extended view)
  • Website Comparison (Extended view)
  • Visibility (Websites view)
  • Website Ranking
  • Keyword Ranking
  • Top Sites (available only in csv)

How to customize the report sections and inputs

AWR Cloud allows you to customize the reports in order to show exactly the data that you need to share with your clients or coworkers.

For this, access the Reports -> Master reports menu, and either edit an existing report or create a new one from scratch.

If you decide to create a new one, click on Add new master report button from the top-right corner, and choose the setups you need for your new report. Once you've created it, it will show up in the list, and you can further edit the data you wish to be displayed, by clicking on its name, and accessing the report editor.

Here, there are 3 available tabs:

  1. Sections - where you can specify the ranking sections you wish to be added to your report.
  2. For example, within the Keyword Ranking section, you can choose not to display the graphs, and only show tabular data cliumns - Analytics Visits (you have to sync Google Analytics to be able to retrieve this type of data), Competition, Searches, CPC, the ranking URLs for each keyword and more.

  3. Data - allows you to set up the update dates to be compared and make the final input adjustments - websites, search engines, keywords you're tracking
  4. Settings - allows you to schedule your report to be automatically generated and deliver to your clients. Here, it's where you can make the final adjustments - if you wish to use a previously created Brand template or Report title and Page orientation.

If you want to see how it looks like before sending it, use the Preview generated report option. Scroll down and click to expand in order to find this option.

Once you finished setting up the report, hit Save and run master report to generate it.

For more details about customizing an AWR Cloud report, access the Report creation video.

What is a report preview?

The Report Preview is meant to load a sample file of the report to be generated, containing partial data, and it helps you make an idea on how the information will be displayed.

Adding more columns in reports

AWR Cloud allows you to customize your report data, by adding the information you need to share with your clients. While in the Report Editor, the first tab Sections choose which sections and columns to include in the report.

Can I remove charts from my reports?

It depends on the report section you further need to remove the chart from.

The chart can be removed by disabling the Display chart option when editing a report section, in the Reports -> Master reports menu. As long as the section doesn't consist in a chart only, you can remove it.

For the 3 other sections which have chart included - Keyword Ranking, Visibility and Website Ranking, the chart is optional, you can remove it from your report, leaving only tabular data.

Manage report templates

The AWR Cloud report templates are different than the reports you create in the application, for each project. You can separately create a template, and then apply it to the multiple projects at once, overriding the sections previously created in the report.

The template contains two editable sections - Sections and Settings - and can be applied for multiple project reports at once.

Manage data exports

AWR Cloud allows you generate data ranking exports, global or custom.

To generate an export, navigate to Settings -> project name Settings -> Export, and click on +New Export button.

The wizard allows you to customize the file at multiple levels:

1. Websites to be included:

  • Current website (the data for the selected project)
  • All websites (global export)
  • Custom (allowing you to select the projects you wish to include in the file)

2. File Format

  • json
  • csv

3. Apply different ranking filters

  • First Place
  • Top 3
  • Ranked
  • Not Ranked

4. Custom columns

  • Keyword Group
  • AdWords metrics (Competition, CPC, Avg. Monthly Searches)

5. Date Range, where you can choose from a predefined range or define a custom one.

Once the setups are performed, hit Generate to finish the process.

Schedule reports

Reports can be generated both on demand or on a scheduled basis, to be delivered automatically to certain AWR Cloud users within your account or to any other client email.

While editing your report , in the 3rd tab - Settings - schedule it to automatically generate and deliver to your clients.

Choose the frequency (weekly or monthly) and the day to be sent (Mon-Sun), as well as the recipient - one of your existing account users or an external email.

By default, the report approval option is selected - this requires you to approve the report before actually sending it to your client. You can leave this enabled or disable it, and in the latter case, the report is automatically sent when generated.

Branded templates

There are five easy steps to personalize reports with your own company logo and footer:

  1. Navigate to the Reports -> Templates -> Brand menu in your project;
  2. Click on the Add new brand template button;
  3. Enter the name and the URL to your company logo;
  4. Optionally, you can also enter a custom report footer;
  5. Hit Add brand template to save your preferences.

To fully personalize the reporting system and the communication flow with your clients, enable the AWR Cloud whitelabel mode.

Can I access the previously generated reports?

All generated reports are stored within your AWR Cloud account and you can access them at any time by navigating to Reports -> Overview menu. This section includes all project reports and quick reports, without the exports and report previews.

Manage generated reports

Once generated, you can perform multiple bulk actions to your reports, by selecting them in the History section and choosing your next action:

  • Delete
  • Approve
  • Mark as read

Send reports by email

All types of AWR Cloud reports can be directly sent by email, once generated or scheduled to be delivered.

  • For all custom reports, when you click on Run master report, you choose whether Downloading the report or send it by email (to one of your account users or to any other email address)
  • Same goes for Quick Reports - download or send by Email
  • Schedule a report to be automatically sent

Can I share reports with my clients, without giving them access to the AWR Cloud account?

Of course. Once you send a report by email, your client will receive the report URL.

Once clicked, the report will open in browser (for HTML and PDF) or start downloading (CSV).

Are my reports secure?

Yes. The AWR Cloud is a completely secured system. Both your account and the user accounts that you create for your clients are password protected, and all pages inside these accounts are accessed via a HTTPS protocol.

Change the reporting frequency

To change the reporting frequency by following the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Reports -> Master reports section of your project.
  2. Click on the report you want to modify
  3. In the Settings tab, make sure you have checked the Send report automatically option and choose a different frequency
  4. Click on Save & go to Master reports list for the changes to become effective.

Reports can be generated daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly, by selecting the specific day of the week or day of the month when they are made available to your clients.

Generate a Top Sites quick report

The Top Sites quick report generates a csv file with all the URLs tracked from SERP, when querying the search engine with the keyword selected in display, while in the Rankings menu -> Website Ranking.

The Top Sites URLs include only the results which match your search engine preferences and types of results being tracked. The number of sites displayed also depends on the update search depth you have selected for your project updates - 5 or 10 pages of results.

The Quick report generates one csv file with the URLs found, for each of your project's keywords.

The Top Sites section is also available in the full reporting system (csv reports only) and includes all the URLs tracked from SERP at the moment of the update, for all the project keywords and search engines.

Report summary and cover page

Cover page

This report section includes the report title, the subtitle and the cover page content. It's recommended to use it when presenting the scope of the report and explain how sections are organized.

Summary page

To help your client better understand the data within the reporting sections, just add a summary page before each, explaining what the section is about, presenting your ranking data progress and the actions you plan to take until the next reporting period.
