Main Menu

The main menu provides access to all the functions of Advanced Web Ranking.

Project menu

  • New Project - creates a new project.

  • Project Settings - provides access to the current project settings.

  • Manage project lists - manages the lists of projects.

  • Project manager - the project manager can show you an overview of all the projects.

  • Rename project - allows you to rename the current project.

  • Duplicate Project - saves the current project and all the data associated with it under a different name.

  • Reset Project - resets the data from the current project. This action will remove any data gathered so far, but it will keep all the search engines and queries that exist in your project.

  • Delete Project - deletes the current project.

  • Remove Data - removes data from the current project for the selected time range.

  • Import WPG Projects - imports historical data from Web Position Gold projects.

  • Import AWR Projects - imports data from older AWR database (version 4.1 or lower).

  • Import from CSV - imports data from csv files (created with AWR or with another application).

  • Export - exports project data into csv or xml format.

  • Backup - creates a backup copy for the active project. See the Backup page for more details.

  • Restore - replaces the current project with an existing backup copy. See the Restore page for more details.

Update menu

  • Start - starts the update only for those URLs, search engines and keywords for which there is no current data in the project.

  • Pause - pauses the update.

  • Stop - terminates the update.

  • Update everything (force update) - starts the update of the current project. Unlike the Start action, this will gather all the data, even if the current day's data has previously been updated.

  • Update selected Search Engine and Keywords - starts the data gathering for the selected search engine and the selected keywords, even though the current day's data has already been updated.

  • Update selected Search Engine and all the Keywords - starts the data gathering for the selected search engine and all the active keywords, even though the current day's data has already been updated.

  • Update selected Keywords and all Search Engines - starts the data gathering process for the selected keywords and all search engines, even though the current day's data is already up-to-date.

  • Update multiple projects - updates a list of projects.

  • Update page rank - get the page rank for the project websites.

Schedule

  • New scheduled task - create a scheduled task (for update or backup).

  • View scheduled tasks - view the previously defined scheduled tasks.

Reports

When you select one of the four combinations of this menu (see below), a list with all the available report templates is displayed. This list is the same as the one displayed at the bottom of the Reports menu.

  • Selected Search Engine and Selected Keywords - you can generate reports containing information about the rank position of all the active URLs in your project, in the selected search engines when searching with the selected keywords.

  • Selected Search Engine and All Keywords - generates reports containing information about the rank position of all your active URLs in the project, in the selected search engines when searching with all the keywords.

  • Selected Keywords and All Search Engines - allows you to generate reports with the rank position of all the active URLs of your project, in all the search engines, when searching with the selected keywords.

  • All Keywords and All Search Engines - you can generate reports containing information about the rank position of all your active URLs, in all the search engines of your project when searching with all the active keywords.

At the bottom of this menu, you can see a list of report templates. By default, only the default templates provided by the application (Current Rank Report, Keyword Rank, Overview Report, Search Engine Rank, Top Sites Report and Visibility Report) are displayed. Later on, all the customized report templates that you create will also appear here.

All these templates can be customized to fit your requirements. See the Report Wizard for details.

Edit Reports

  • New Report - starts the report wizard to create new report.

  • Manage Reports - manage the previously created report templates.

At the bottom of the Edit Reports menu there is a list with all the available report templates. The Current Rank Report, Keyword Rank, Overview Report, Search Engine Rank, Top Sites Report and Visibility Report are provided by default.

Triggers

  • New trigger - creates a new trigger.

  • Manage triggers - manages triggers.

Filters

  • New filter - creates a new filter.

  • Manage filters - manages filters.

Options

  • Preferences - allows you to set the global preferences of the project. See the Global Preferences page for more details.

  • Address Book - allows you to add and edit the email addresses in your address book. See the Address Book page for more details.

  • FTP Profiles - allows you to add, remove and edit your FTP profiles. See the FTP Profiles page for more details.

  • Header and Footer - allows you to add customized headers and footers to your reports.

  • Reports Layout - allow you to choose a restricted set of UI reports that will be displayed.

    • Default. The Default layout cannot be deleted and it contains all the reports available in Advanced Web Ranking

    • Manage layouts. Opens the layout manager where you can add, remove and edit your layouts

  • User profiles - allows you to select and manage the user profiles

  • Manage access groups - allows you to add, remove or edit Access Groups

  • Manage proxy servers - allows you to add, remove or edit the Proxy servers

Tools

  • Update Progress - this items shows all the currently running project and multiple updates. You can also see the history with your previous updates.

  • Submitter - opens the Advanced Web Ranking submission tab.

  • Event Log Viewer - opens the Advanced Web Ranking Event Log Viewer Dialog. In this dialog you can view all the events logged by the application.

  • Notes - you can add notes to your project to remind you for some actions you took in the past or that you wish to take in the future. These notes appear in the charts as vertical lines on the date they are set.

  • Local search engines manager - manage your Search engine local settings

Help

  • Help Index - displays the help index window.

  • Advanced Web Ranking Assistant

  • Context Help

  • Support Website - opens in your default browser the Advanced Web Ranking support page.

  • Report Error - you can use this any time an error occurs in the application. The error report creates an archive containing the error logs, some of the data from your project and your preferences files. You can send this archive to our support email address (support@advancedwebranking.com).

  • System properties - you can see here the values of system properties like the version of the Java virtual machine, the location of the user home directory, the Java classpath, etc.

  • Purchase - opens in your default browser the purchase page of the Advanced Web Ranking Website.

  • Register - allows you to register this product. You will be prompted for the registration ID you received by email after purchasing.

  • Search Engines Update - displays information about the latest search engine update found on the www.advancedwebranking.com site.

  • About - displays a message box containing information about the product version, the search engines update versions, and your registration information.
