This tutorial presumes you already went through the "Getting Started" tutorial and uses the same project. So...let's begin!

1. Generating report files

Let's say one of your clients wants to see the situation (ranking) of all the Websites in the Google search engine. We have already included this search engine in the project.

Now let's go to [Reports]->[Current Rank Report] menu. This is one of the default templates provided by the application. The first time you click on this menu, a warning message box appears which tells you that you need to set the destination of the generated report. Press OK and a new dialog box will appear (Custom Report dialog box). This is where you should specify the destination. Check "Save Report to File". Browse to select the location where the report will be generated and choose a folder. Press the Close button to close the Custom Report dialog box. A new message box prompts you to save the report template. Click on OK to save it.

To generate the report for a selected Search Engine and a keyword, let's select Google (in the Search Engines panel) and the "news" keyword (in the Keywords panel). Then click on the [Reports]->[Selected Search Engine and Selected Keywords]->[Current Rank Report] menu from the menu bar. This will generate the report for Google and "latest news" as we have previously selected.

Browse to the destination folder that you have previously selected and open the report to see the results.

2. Scheduling Websites ranking

Let's suppose we want to see the ranking of our Websites every day and not have to do the update manually every time. For this, we'll use the Scheduler feature of Advanced Web Ranking. See the Scheduler for more details.

From now on, the application will start at the scheduled time and update our project.

3. Backup

What happens if our hard drive crashes, and we loose all the data? To avoid this situation, we should create a backup copy for our project via the [Backup] menu. Click here for a detailed explanation.
