We intend to use the software for all of our clients, but we need to ensure that AWR definitely does not have any negative effects on our client's sites? (Can you confirm that it is not possible trace back to the client when querying the search engines?)

For a search engine, Advanced Web Ranking looks just like a regular web browser. We send the EXACT request a web browser sends. There is no way for a search engine to find out you are using anything else but a browser.

Furthermore, when Advanced Web Ranking sends a request to a search engine, the request contains only the keywords, not the website. The application looks for the websites in the results the search engine sent back. This means a search engine has no way of making a connection between the IP address of your computer, where Advanced Web Ranking is running, and the website of your client. If this was possible, anyone could send a fake request to a search engine with their competitor website in order to get them banned.

Would our IP address be protected when using the software?

The only thing that a search engine sees is a search request coming from an IP address (the address of the computer Advanced Web Ranking runs on or the IP address of the proxy server that you use). This IP address, combined with the frequency of searches coming from it can be used by a search engine to stop the results from being returned for a certain period of time.

Almost all search engines have a protection mechanism that blocks the request if it detects that the number of searches coming from an IP address exceeds a certain amount. Therefore, even if Advanced Web Ranking allows you to, you would not be able to send thousands of search requests per minute, because this is something that no normal human being can do.

That is why we built a "be nice to search engines" option in Advanced Web Ranking, which is enabled by default. This option emulates a human that is normally browsing and searching on the net. If you use this option you will never have to worry about any of the problems discussed above.

You can see more information about being friendly to search engines here:

Does the software support/provide proxy querying?

Yes, Advanced Web Ranking allows you to use multiple proxy servers in the application. This will decrease the time an update needs to complete by the number of proxy servers you have because the application sends a search request for each proxy server in parallel. Search engines will treat the search request as coming from different IP addresses.

Why Google Ajax API displays only 64 results?

This is the maximum number of results Google returns when using the Google Ajax API.

To check more results, you need to disable the Ajax API key and be sure you use our default friendly options. Even if you use or not an API key, we recommend to use our "friendly" options, just in case when you reached the API limit or the key doesn't work for some reasons. In any of these cases, the application shows you a message telling about what happens and the update will continue without the API key.

What is the maximum number of clients you would recommend using the software for? (Is the software scalable with the growth of our business? Is there a maximum you'd recommend?)

There is no limitation in the number of clients. You can create as many projects as you need, depending on the hard drive space of your server.

Advanced Web Ranking has been designed to accommodate heavy usage. If you have many clients, the best solution is to have more than one computer running Advanced Web Ranking. Each computer should have a different IP address, and they will all be connected to a server. Thus, they will all share the same data because they are connected to a centralized database via the server. This will also divide the update time by the number of computers because the requests are sent from different IP addresses.

How reliable is the product and it's data, and is it possible to backup the software and it's information?

Advanced Web Ranking stores its data in a relational database which employs transactions for each action. If a transaction fails, the database will restore itself to avoid being corrupted.

To be safe, the application allows you to backup all the projects whenever you need. You can also create a scheduled task that will backup all your projects as often as you want: daily, weekly, monthly.

How easy is it to import/export data between different versions of the software?

Importing the data from previous versions of the applications is done automatically. There is nothing you need to do about this, because the application will automatically take care of it for you.

If you wish to move a project from one computer to another, all you need to do is backup the project and then restore it on the other computer.

What level of support can we expect once we purchase the software?

Customer satisfaction is our number one priority. We have 24/7 email support and we also have a support forum, which is frequently visited by our engineers along with our entire community of users.

Also, our software comes with a full year of maintenance free of charge. So you can enjoy full support, search engine updates and application updates for a full year since the day of purchase.

If we have the server edition of the software, would we need anything higher than the Standard version to act as clients for the server?

Depends what you need to do with your client application. If you just want to update the projects and see the results in the user interface, the Standard version is enough. If you need to generate printable reports you need at least Professional version. And if you need advanced features like User Profiles, Triggers, Export Rank Data, Proxy per Project, you need an Enterprise edition.

You can see the differences between our editions, on our feature comparison web page:

NoteThe Server license comes with an Enterprise client license.

Do you provide any other additional services/products that you would recommend?

We have another great product called Advanced Link Manager. This is a link popularity tool that tracks the links to your site and also shows who links to your competition, giving them an advantage in search engine placement:
